Muscogee Road Widening & Drainage

1099-1039 Muscogee Road in Cantonment

Muscogee Road is a designated freight corridor serving both commercial traffic and the residents of western Escambia County. Local Option Sales Tax funding, in partnership with FDOT, supported a major widening and drainage improvement project along this critical stretch of roadway between CR 297A and Perdido River. Improvements have been completed in phases, including:

  • Full widening and construction from Beulah to Carlisle

  • Resurfacing from Carlisle Drive to Jack's Branch Road

  • Resurfacing from Jack's Branch Road to Nowak Road

  • Perdido River to Beulah segment

Additionally, drainage improvements throughout the corridor were designed to reduce flooding and support long-term roadway performance under heavy traffic loads.

A wider, better-drained Muscogee Road means safer, more reliable travel for the freight carriers, commuters and local families who depend on it every day.
